Who We Are

Queen of Heaven Council 4572 was established in 1958 to provide Catholic men with opportunities to deepen their faith in Jesus Christ and to put their faith into action through service to the Church and charitable outreach in our community.

As Brother Knights, we support parish life through prayer, fellowship, and organized service—working alongside parish clergy and ministries to help meet the needs of others.

Knights of Columbus Business Meeting

Our Mission and Purpose

The Knights of Columbus exists to strengthen Catholic families and parish life by forming men of faith and action. Our council supports the parish through spiritual activities, volunteer service, and charitable giving—always guided by the principles of:

Faith

Charity

Fraternity

Unity

Our Organization

Our council is made up of elected officers, appointed directors, and dedicated members who serve in various roles throughout the year.

The Grand Knight is elected and presides over council meetings while appointing directors and committees as needed. Other elected officers include the Deputy Grand Knight, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Chancellor, and additional leadership roles.

Our Chaplain serves as the spiritual advisor to the Brother Knights and the council, helping guide our work in faith and devotion to Christ and His Church.

Our Meetings

Council meetings are open to all Knights and invited guests. We meet on Mondays at 7:00 PM in Breen Hall.

There are two types of meetings:

Business Meetings

(1st & 3rd Mondays)

Business meetings begin at 7:00 PM and typically last one hour or less. These meetings follow a structured format and allow the council to:

  • discuss council operations,

  • plan service activities,

  • make decisions and vote on charitable support,

  • coordinate parish involvement.

On the 3rd Monday, the council begins at 6:45 PM by leading the parish in praying a Rosary for the Unborn.

Social Meetings

(2nd & 4th Mondays)

Social meetings focus on fellowship and community. These gatherings include:

  • dinner and refreshments,

  • social activities,

  • and opportunities to strengthen fraternity among members.

Weather permitting, the council often enjoys friendly cornhole games beginning at 6:00 PM, with dinner served at 7:00 PM. Knights volunteer to assist with preparing and serving dinner, and beer and wine may be available at these meetings.

When a month includes a 5th Monday, the council may host a family social. Members are encouraged to bring wives, children, and grandchildren to enjoy fellowship together.

Vocations Sunday Mass

A special opportunity to serve Christ and His Church is participation in the Mass for Vocations, celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of each month at the 10:00 AM Mass.

At this liturgy, Brother Knights serve in a variety of roles including:

  • Ushers

  • Lectors

  • Eucharistic Ministers

  • Choir

This is a meaningful opportunity to support vocations, serve the parish, and visibly demonstrate the Knights’ commitment to the sacramental life of the Church.

For those wishing to sing in the choir, the parish music ministry requests participation in choir practice on the Wednesday prior to the Sunday liturgy.

Opportunities to Get Involved

Beyond meetings, Council 4572 offers many ways to serve and participate. Knights are encouraged to contribute their time and talents in ways that support parish life, charitable outreach, and community needs.
